/Army Basic Requirements

You must pass the APFT basic training to complete the graduate training camp and continue infantry training. In the final phase of basic combat training, you build on everything you`ve learned before. These weeks will serve as your final transformation from a civilian to a soldier. Fitness requirements are increasing for recruits in advanced infantry training. Completion requires a fitness test of 180 points or more, with at least 60 points in each of the three challenges. Male recruits between the ages of 17 and 21 must do 42 push-ups, 53 sit-ups and a two-mile run in 15 minutes and 54 seconds or less. Women in the same age group must complete 19 push-ups, 53 sit-ups and two kilometers of running in 18 minutes and 54 seconds or less. For recruits between the ages of 22 and 26, men must perform 40 push-ups and 50 sit-ups, as well as a two-mile run of 16 minutes and 36 seconds. Women must do 17 push-ups, 50 sit-ups and a two-mile run in less than 19 minutes and 36 seconds.

The following table shows the minimum score allowed to complete the AIT and the requirements for your semi-annual Army PFT thereafter: In addition to the above fitness requirements, branches of the U.S. Army have standards for weight and body composition. We recommend starting the year 2021 by tracking your fitness gains first and taking care of the weight later – if that`s the case. Getting your body moving more at all levels is more important to make you feel more fit physically and mentally this year. However, if you want to check the standards to see where your routine could take you with healthy workouts and nutrition, you can check out the body composition standards for the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Navy online. The Coast Guard Body Composition Program currently measures abdominal circumference, not weight. The Army Basic Fitness Test is a three-test physical performance test used to assess endurance. It measures your physical strength, abilities and cardiorespiratory fitness. There are five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces — the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard — and each has similar but different military tests and standards. There are also many ways to enlist as an officer or crew member. Below is a list of regular military aptitude tests and basic requirements for new recruits and officers looking to enter the military.

If you`re considering joining the U.S. Army, you must meet various standards throughout your education and career. One of the tests you will take in basic training is the Army Fitness Test (APFT), commonly referred to as the Army PT Test. To help you succeed, we`ve broken down everything you need to know about the APFT test and standards. DAMN IT, YES, YOU DID! All the blood, sweat and tears (who saw? Not us – we didn`t see anything.) They put in basic training, paid. Now you are ready for the 10th and final week: graduation. There will always be “wanted warriors” for the U.S. military, but not everyone has the strength to sacrifice themselves and serve as a soldier. During basic army training, you will very quickly acquire the physical and mental skills that will allow you to survive and thrive in one of the largest combat troops on Earth. Looking for a challenging workout that kicks you at boot camp? Look no further than the Marine Corps fitness test. The demands of this industry deliberately require knowing who has the stamina and determination to continue when others stop. If you want to run with devil dogs, you have to be at your best.
