At Kentucky Legal Aid, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional client service. This means that we make it easy for you to apply for legal aid and inform you promptly of the help we can provide you. Once your request for services is approved, you can call back if necessary to speak directly to your assigned legal counsel. Financial screening is usually only required once a year. Kentucky`s civil legal aid programs provide free legal aid to low-income and other vulnerable people. The four legal aid programs assist individuals and families on income, family, housing, food security, safety and health issues. If you are eligible for assistance, you will be transferred to speak to legal counsel. Please gather the documents and facts relevant to your case before calling so that we can assist you as soon as possible. Legal counsel will talk to you about your situation and try to help you resolve the issue. If necessary, legal counsel can make an appointment to come to one of our offices or arrange for another lawyer to assist you. Become a volunteer to help our clients with their civil law issues. If you believe you have been unfairly denied services or are not satisfied with the services you received, learn more about the complaint procedures here.
