The American-made Hennessey Venom GT is a low-production supercar based on a Lotus Exige chassis. The carbon-fiber body platform has been extensively designed to keep the 2,700-pound Venom as light as possible and features an active aerodynamic system for high-speed stability. Equipped with a twin-compressor V8 engine, the rear-wheel drive Venom delivers up to 1,244 hp. That`s enough to bring the Venom GT to 270 mph. These vehicles are the fastest cars in the world. The majority of vehicles have proven top speed records, while a few are top speed values. In addition, this list includes some models that would set records if they went into production. Hennessey Performance unveiled its Venom F5 at Monterey Car Week last August, an upcoming supercar that builds on the successes of its Lotus-based Venom GT, which debuted in 2011. The Venom GT is equipped with a middle-mounted twin-turbocharged LSX V8 engine from GM that develops up to 1,244 horsepower and 1,155 lb-ft of torque, and even uses a good old-fashioned six-speed gearbox. Do you know the funny little bubble car called Isetta that you always imagined was invented by BMW? Yes, no, it was those guys. Before building supercars, Iso Rivolto designed the epitome bubble car, licensed it to BMW, among others, and used the money to build Bertone-style GTs.

Do you remember the Disco Volante? Its design was conceived by the same company that gave us the superb DB4, Carrozzeria Touring. Despite the fact that the design and construction of the superleggera (tubular chassis) was Italian, the DB4 was the first Aston to be built at Newport Pagnell. Maranaello didn`t want to lounge and drink espresso while the Germans stole his record, so he made sure the F40 – which had 38 more horsepower and 250kg less than the 959 – would nail the double ton. Plus two and a little. This officially makes it the first production car to drive faster than the EVOLUTION. The image is completed by a large rear part, decorated with a solid strip of LED lights, spectacular exhaust pipes and a refined diffuser. Bugatti cars are also known for their cool acceleration, making them great drag racing cars. Hennessey Performance Engineering was previously at the top of the list with its Venom F5. The successor to the Venom GT record, the F5, has a theoretical and claimed top speed of 301 miles per hour, overtaking the next fastest car by a solid margin.

It is a pity that Bugatti had to get involved in the wars again. Not satisfied with the top speed crown, he also recorded the fastest time from 0 to 249 mph-0 (33.29 seconds, extremely faster than a Bugatti Chiron), achieved the highest average speed over the flight kilometer (268 mph), ditto for the flying mile (268.74) and recorded the fastest speed recorded on a public (closed) road. That was 284.55 miles per hour reached during the Agera`s first crack on a high-speed race. Here are four of the fastest legal cars in the world, according to ABB. The first production car to reach 200 mph was the Ferrari F40. The year is 1987; Immediately after the Italian stallion`s speedometer recorded 201, the race to enter the 300mph club began. In 2019, amid fierce competition between Koenigsegg, Hennessey and Bugatti, the Chiron Super Sport overtook the others by a horse`s shoeing nose, reaching an astonishing 304.7 miles per hour. In early 2020, a host of new hypercars were announced — some promising at least 300 miles per hour. This year, SSC North America made a claim a reality and solidified SSC Tuatara`s position as the second – at least for now. So we`re updating our list of the fastest cars in the world and expanding it to show more wheel flashes. (Three quick notes from the editor: Our only criterion is maximum speed, our floor to consider is at least 218 mph, and unproven claims from the manufacturer are given.) The car was redesigned to make it even faster, and as a result, only 30 of these amazing cars were created.

The overhaul worked wonders, as the Super Sport hit a top speed of 267.8 miles per hour. Nevertheless, it is still 4th on our list. Ouch. The Bugatti Veyron made headlines when it broke top speed records in 2005. Equipped with a massive 8.0-liter W16 engine with four turbochargers, it has an impressive 1,001 horsepower. That`s incredible power that requires a robust 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. An excess of luxury features as well as high-tech aerodynamic and safety systems explain the massive size of the Veryon, but the 4,200-pound supercar is still lightning fast, reaching 60mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 253mph. Built with the sole purpose of being the fastest production car of all time. Managed. For a bit, anyway. The standard Veyron has 1000 hp, while this one has 1200 hp – the power of a Golf GTI over the Veyron cooking type.

The CCR, which debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2004, was the most powerful version of the Koenigsegg CC range at the time. It was brought back to be exhibited at this year`s show, 15 years after its debut. Inspired by the cars that won the battle against Enzo Ferrari and won the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1-2-3, today`s GT combines technology with radical design to enable the performance of racing cars on the road. Technically the second-generation GT, after the original retrospective of the early 2000s, it features a twin-turbocharged Ford EcoBoost V6 shared with the F-150, producing 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque. With an astonishing 1360 horsepower, it`s easy to see why this is the second fastest homologated car in the world. The McLaren 720S virtually redefined the supercar class when it debuted in 2017. Based on a carbon-fiber passenger cell, the 720S uses an active suspension system to take full advantage of its slim curb weight of 3,200 pounds.

The result is a comfortable road car that easily transforms into a high-performance race car. But if your goal is simply to go fast in a straight line, the 720S will. With 710 horsepower from its four-liter twin-turbocharged V8, this McLaren traverses 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, crushes the quarter-mile in 10.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 212 miles per hour. This car is nicknamed “Thor” because it “brings thunder”, reaches a top speed of 304.7 miles per hour and, as of November 2020, is by far the fastest legal car in the world. With a production car now reaching 330 miles per hour, we can declare the top speed race over, right? Fortunately, no. Koenigsegg is about to launch its next high-speed rocket. It`s called Jesko, a brand new model with more power, more advanced aerodynamics and more speed. The number that is already being touted? Over 330 mph. Can Koenigsegg regain his title as the man behind the fastest car in the world? The engine has two Garrett turbochargers that produce a turbocharger of 0.4 bar and increase the maximum power to 750 hp (6300 rpm), with a maximum torque of 700 lb-ft (4800 rpm) and the maximum speed of 399 km / h (248 mph). Not so long ago, when a car was driving just over 150 mph, it was considered lightning fast, whereas nowadays that number is barely recorded as speed in the world of supercars. Technology has evolved, technology has evolved, and supercars have evolved. Named after the company`s founder, Ferrari Enzo was one of the first supercars with advanced design elements such as a carbon fiber body, active aerodynamics and carbon-ceramic brakes. These were state-of-the-art supercar features when the Enzo debuted in 2003, making it one of the most advanced production cars of the time. The V12 engine produced 651 horsepower, and with a curb weight of just over 3,200 pounds, the Enzo was able to accelerate to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, cross the quarter mile in 11 seconds and reach a top speed of 218 mph. The 812 Superfast has a 6.5 V12 engine with exactly 800 “horsepower” (8500 rpm) and 718 Nm (529.6 ft-lb). It is worth noting that 80% of the maximum torque is available at 3500 rpm.

Such parameters are made possible by a new GDi system with a pressure of 350 bar and a variable geometry intake track designed like naturally aspirated Formula 1 engines. When Bugatti launched the Veyron in 2005, it was a number of firsts, including the fastest, most powerful and most expensive car available at the time. Behind your head, a huge 8.0-liter W-16 engine produces 1,001 horsepower and a staggering 921 lb-ft of torque. This will take you to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, 124 mph in 7.3 seconds, 186 mph in 16.7 seconds and, if you have the courage, at a top speed of 253 mph. Completely independent of Carroll Shelby, SSC`s new vehicle, the Tuatara, is expected to hit the road in 2019 in hopes of reclaiming the title of the world`s fastest car, but in the meantime, even a decade-old Ultimate Aero is still at the top of the supercar. Texas Hennessey Performance tuners have spent their careers building a reputation for modifying factory cars to create insane performance specifications.
